The short version

Our exam study guides, curricula, topic notes, and lecture material (the "Study Content") are published under a Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), with one addition described below.

In plain English:

  • ✅ You may adapt, excerpt, remix, and build upon the Study Content for noncommercial purposes.
  • ✅ You must credit Only Ever and link back to the original page you used.
  • ✅ You must release anything you build from it under these same terms (ShareAlike).
  • ❌ You may not use the Study Content for commercial purposes.
  • ❌ You may not republish complete guides verbatim — in whole or in systematic part — on any other site or service (our one addition to the standard license).

If that covers what you want to do, you're good to go. If not, ask us — we're friendly.

What you may do (noncommercial reuse)

You are free to share and adapt the Study Content — copy and redistribute excerpts, and remix, transform, and build upon the material — for any noncommercial purpose, provided you follow the terms below. This is meant for students, educators, study groups, and nonprofit projects.

When you reuse any part of the Study Content, give credit in a reasonable manner:

ShareAlike

If you remix, transform, or build upon the Study Content, you must distribute your contributions under the same license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, with the verbatim-republication restriction below).

What you may not do

No commercial use

You may not use the Study Content, in whole or in part, for commercial purposes — including, without limitation, ad-supported websites, paid courses or products, lead generation, or any use primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation.

No verbatim republication of complete guides

As an addition to the standard CC BY-NC-SA terms, you may not reproduce or republish complete study guides, topic notes, or curricula verbatim — in whole or in substantial or systematic part — on any other website, app, or service, whether commercial or noncommercial. The noncommercial grant above covers genuine adaptation and excerpting, not mirroring or wholesale copying.

No automated scraping for republication or model training

You may not use automated means (scrapers, crawlers, or bulk downloaders) to copy the Study Content for republication, redistribution, or dataset creation.

Ownership

The Study Content is owned by The Only Ever Inc. The license above grants you permission to reuse it on these terms; it does not transfer ownership, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

User-generated content you create inside the Only Ever app is governed separately by our Terms of Service, not by this license.

Enforcement

We actively protect this content. Unauthorized commercial use, verbatim republication, or bulk scraping is a violation of this license and of copyright law. We will pursue takedowns under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other available remedies.
